Meta App Review Guide
1. Company & app identity
The Elevate Platform is proprietary software owned and operated by Elevate Real Estate Team LLC. It is used by licensed real-estate agents affiliated with the Coldwell Banker Realty | Elevate team. "Coldwell Banker Realty" is a brokerage brand only and is a separate entity from the software owner.
2. What the app does
Elevate Platform is an all-in-one business tool for licensed real-estate agents: CRM, transaction management, MLS access, marketing/design tools, agent websites, and a Social Media Studio. The Facebook/Instagram integration exists so an agent can publish their own real-estate marketing content — listing announcements, open houses, sold posts — to their own professional accounts, without leaving the Platform.
3. Why we request each permission
The integration is optional and follows least privilege. Each permission maps directly to the single use case of publishing an agent's own marketing content to the accounts they select:
| Permission | Why it is required |
|---|---|
public_profile | To identify the person completing the Facebook Login and display their name/photo in the connection screen. |
pages_show_list | To show the agent the list of Facebook Pages they manage so they can choose which Page to connect. We access only Pages the agent explicitly selects. |
pages_read_engagement | To read basic details of the selected Page (name, profile photo) so the connected account is clearly labeled in the Platform. |
pages_manage_posts | To publish the posts, Reels, and Stories the agent composes to the Facebook Page they selected — the core function. |
instagram_basic | To read basic details of the Instagram Professional account linked to the selected Page (username, profile photo) so it is clearly labeled. |
instagram_content_publish | To publish the content the agent composes to the Instagram Professional account they selected. |
business_management | To retrieve the business assets (Pages / Instagram accounts) the agent explicitly authorizes during connection, when their accounts are managed through Meta Business Manager. |
We do not request permissions for messaging/inboxes, ads, personal profile content, friends, or any capability beyond publishing to the agent's chosen Page and Instagram account. The definitive list of scopes is configured in the Meta App Dashboard for this app.
4. Facebook Login flow (step by step)
- The agent signs in to the Elevate Platform and opens Marketing Center → Social Media Studio → Channels.
- The agent clicks + Add / Connect Facebook & Instagram.
- Facebook's standard Login & permissions dialog opens. The agent reviews and approves the requested permissions.
- Facebook's Page/Instagram selector appears; the agent explicitly selects only the Page(s) and Instagram Professional account(s) they want to connect.
- Control returns to the Platform, which displays the connected account(s) in Channels. The agent can now publish to them and can click Remove at any time to disconnect.
Annotated screenshots for each step are provided with our Meta App Review submission: (1) the Connect screen in Social Media Studio → Channels; (2) the Facebook Login permissions dialog; (3) the connected Facebook & Instagram accounts confirming the OAuth flow.
5. How publishing works
The agent composes a post (caption + media) in the Social Media Studio, selects which connected account(s) to publish to, and clicks Publish. The Platform sends only that content to the Meta APIs to create the post/Reel/Story on the account the agent selected.
Screenshots provided with our submission: (4) composing and reviewing a post in the Studio (caption, media, selected networks, Publish button); (5) the published confirmation after the user clicks Publish.
6. Users connect only their own accounts
Each agent authorizes and connects only their own Facebook Pages and Instagram Professional accounts through Facebook's own login and selection flow. The Platform never accesses Pages or accounts that a user did not explicitly select, and one agent cannot access another agent's connected accounts.
7. Privacy commitments
- We request only the minimum permissions required to publish.
- We do not read Facebook or Instagram private messages or inboxes.
- We do not access personal profile content, friends, or non-Page personal data.
- We access only the Pages and Instagram Professional accounts the user explicitly selects.
- Access tokens are encrypted and stored securely, scoped to the individual agent.
- Users can disconnect at any time; disconnecting revokes and deletes the stored tokens.
- We never sell this data or use it for advertising.
Full detail: Privacy Policy.
8. Data deletion
Users can delete their data (including all Meta tokens and connected-account records) at any time — in-app via Channels → Remove, by removing the app in Facebook settings, or by emailing support@theelevateagent.com. Full instructions: theelevateagent.com/data-deletion.
